Buckingham Palace is England’s most well known Royal residence, being home to Queen Elizabeth. The Queen has a number of royal residences besides Buckingham Palace. Annually the Queen stays, at Sandringham House in Norfolk, during the Christmas period. Sandringham House is one of the Queen’s private royal residences.
A further private residence is Balmoral Castle, situated in Royal Aberdeenshire in Scotland. The Queen was staying in Balmoral Castle when she was told about the sad death of Princess Diana.
