First choose a cool dry room, above 40 degrees Fahrenheit, for your unit. This will allow the freezer mechanism to run at its best. Always locate the freezer away from heat sources. For example, do not place your freezer near a heating vent. It should not be placed in a spot that gets sunlight during any part of the day
Make sure your freezer is leveled, once you put it in the desired place. This enables the door to close properly every time. When using an upright freezer, you may tilt the freezer slightly away from the front so that the door closes easily.
Clean the door seals regularly. To maintain cold temperature, a tight seal is of the highest importance. Your freezer should be positioned in such a way that it has adequate air circulation. The freezer must disperse heat from the inside and heat generated by the unit itself. The freezer will definitely have to work harder if the circulation is limited.
Efficiency of your upright freezer grows as you put more food into it. Be efficient with your freezer, fill it up so he doesn’t have to work with half capacity only. The directions for defrosting are clear and you should stick to them, do not be lazy and forget to defrost. Defrost more often if the frost builds up to more than half inch.
You should not leave the door open for long periods of time. One tip that will keep the cold inside your freezer longer is the list of the things you want to remove or put inside. Keep this list near your chest freezer with a pen or pencil so that you can update it as you add or take out foods.
These few guidelines are enough for you to keep your freezer running perfectly for a long time. Just stick to these tips and guidelines and you won’t have even a minor hassle.
